Perfect Basmati Rice
Simple repeatable way of getting perfect rice using the absorbtion method

- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
Soak the 2 cups of rice in cold water for about 30 minutes. Then rinse under cold tap until the water runs clear, to get rid of any excess starch.
Add the rice, salt and 4 cups of cold water to a pan and bring it to a simmer. Cover and simmer on a low heat for 7 minutes.
After the 7 minutes are up, turn off the heat and then leave the rice to rest in the pan (do not remove the lid).
Gently fluff with a fork and serve
