Ingredients

  • 2 cups tea
  • 2 cups all bran
  • 1 1/2 cups sultanas
  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180
  • put the All Bran in a bowl and add the two cups of hot tea.  Leave to soak for 5 minutes.
  • Add the sultanas to the bowl and again leave for a couple of minutes.
  • Sift in the flour and add the sugar and salt.
  • Gently stir together using a wooden spoon until the flour has combined.
  • Grease a 2lb loaf tin with butter.  Put the mixture into the loaf tin.
  • Put into oven for 30 – 40 minutes.  You can test to see if it is cooked using a skewer.
  • Remove from oven and remove loaf from tin and put onto a wire rack to cool.
